Security experts from Kaspersky spotted a malware-based campaign that abused the Google Adsense Advertising network to spread a malicious code.

Mobile malware is becoming an even more insidious threat, security experts are observing a rapid diffusion of spyware that is able to steal sensitive data from victim’s mobile devices.

Very common are also malware that impersonates login pages of most popular applications and websites in the attempt of tricking users to provide their login credentials. Such kind of malware is able to steal private data, including banking credentials and social media account credentials.

The AVALON AUV was developed between 2007-2009 by a combined team of students and employees of the DFKI. Since then it has been continuously extended and updated, providing a platform for thesis and project oriented teaching. In the summer of 2009 the AVALON-team successfully participated in the SAUC-E 2009 (Student Autonomous Underwater Competition Europe) held in Gosport, UK achieving a solid third place. The was task to autonomously mediate an obstacle course.

“AVALON” (Autonomous Vehicle for Aquatic Learning, Operation and Navigation ), with only 1.35 meters in length and a diameter of 24.6 centimeters, is thanks to its compact construction perfectly suited for operation in narrow, obstacle-rich waters while being impassible against currents and turbulences due to a weight of 132 lbs. Its 6 SeaBotix thrusters provide an amazing manoeuverability making the most delicate tasks possible while mutually being able to reach a maximum depth of 150 meters.

On Thursday, May 31, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., in the media gallery at police headquarters,

Detective Ian Nichol of the Toronto Police Service Financial Crimes Unit, along with officers from the Peel Regional Police Service Fraud Section, will be hosting a news conference to inform the public on how to identify and protect themselves from Point−of−Sales Terminals (POS) being compromised.

Recently, a number of compromised POS Terminals have been stolen, altered and later

seized, each being altered by various methods to compromise the POS.

Seized POS devices will be on display to educate the public and businesses on how to protect the POS terminal, what to look for, and how to respond if they suspect an POS has been tampered with.

The conference will be broadcast on the Bell TOC.
